Police were called to Mission Street and Bloomfield Avenue around 5:50 p.m. where they found a 43-year-old man from East Orange and a 32-year-old man from Montclair, both suffering from gunshots in their hips and legs.

Montclair EMS and paramedics responded, taking both victims to University Trauma Center in Newark for treatment.

Witnesses on scene reported seeing a grey or silver minivan in the area prior to the shooting. Preliminary investigation suggests that the shooter was inside of the minivan and fled northbound on Mission Street before fleeing east on Bloomfield Avenue.

This is an active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contacted Detective Joseph Juliano at (973) 509-4724 or the Montclair Police Department at (973) 744-1234 and ask to speak with a member of the Detective Bureau.
